Hazrat Pir Abdul Jaleel (R.A) was one of the most popular saints of Lucknow. He belongs to the Owaisi silsila of Sufism. He was the spiritual student of Hazrat Khwaja Moin-ud-Din Chishti Ajmeri (R.A). In the Shajra he gave to his students, he mentioned Khwaja Moin-ud-Din Chishti as his spiritual guide. In the books written by him, he mentioned the same thing — that he received his spiritual training from Sultan-ul-Hind Moin-ud-Din Chishti. He died in the year 1043 Hijri during the rule of Mughal emperor Shahjahan. His annual Urs is celebrated on the 19th and 20th of Rabi-us-Saani. His mausoleum is located on a hill, the area is famous by his name. It was a Takiya (graveyard) that became famous among the locals as Takiya Pir Jaleel Golaganj. However, of the original site, only 2 graves are left, as people have built houses over the rest of the graveyard.
